It was only a year ago when some weird old dude was on my doorsteps, telling me that I was a witch. Not something you would easily believe, right? But apparently this old dude was the headmaster from some weird magic school I could attend.
Well, you probably figure how my parents and I reacted. I think they found it harder to believe then I did. But all went well and through some miracle I managed to even advance to the second year.
As you guys all know, there is an existence of a thing called “summer holiday.” Two months of absolute fun! No school, no worries, no anything! This summer holiday I had the chance to go into the wild while experiencing my very first wizard holiday! It was that... or going with my parents to some camping retreat in their caravan.
I decided to put the second choice aside. Who would want to go camping where like almost everything is inclusive? Like an in and outdoor swimming pool. Some local weird mini-market. Yeah... not really my preference. Instead, I decided, as the amazing 12 year old that I am, to go on a trip through the land of magic, where I would be able to experience all different kinds of magic.
To be honest, it didn’t really go like I planned. Instead of experiencing magic and a lovely trip, it was more like I experienced the food, the kidnapping. But, I have to give it to all of you guys. I had a lovely time sightseeing all the different kinds of cultures of magical creatures. I never thought I would see that. I was amongst elves. Little ones, big ones, and weird ones. I think I even saw some elves that just looked like regular humans with weird ears. And well, when they were speaking with each other it looked as if they were speaking pig latin...
Besides elves I also met with hobbits; man, those creatures can eat. I never have seen that big of a meal! It even felt as if only one meal took a whole day. It really took too long. Not my kind of business, if you ask me.
Then there were the dwarves. They were so small. Really; even I, a not-that-big 12 year-old, was bigger than them. I have to say, I was kind of proud of that part. I was bigger than a grown up! I never have been bigger than a grown up. So this was an awesome change!
I also met with other wizards from my own age who were purebloods or halfbloods but lived in the wizarding way. I think I might have met some of them during my year in HOL. But I have to say, I can’t really remember. When it come to names, faces, and such everything is kind of a blur to me. I’m just not good at that.
There were some drifters along my way. Beside being a little bit smelly, they were fun to talk to! And they had some nice food for drifter standards! It wasn’t just eating berries and nuts all day! They really knew what they could use from the nature! It was awesome to see. But I still think they could have used a bath somewhere in between.
But the real terror and fear hit me when I met with dragons! Yes, real, live, and kicking (well, more like fire-breathing) DRAGONS! They are real! Oh my god! I know the magical world believed in dragons... but still, I didn’t believe in them until I saw them with my very own eyes! And I still can’t believe I was able to escape from them!
But what exactly happened during my time with the elves, hobbits, dwarves, wizards, drifters, and dragons is something that I’ll tell another time! But let me tell you this guys. They all have amazing kitchens!
