Welcome back, everyone! Thank you everyone who read my column last month and thank you to the lovely Chadwick Cadet for publishing!
This month, the topic will be common rooms; now as I am a Gryffindor you will find that most of this article will relate back to our common room... sorry, guys!
So what is the common room?
Well, as you will all know from the Harry Potter series, each house has its own common room where you can meet new friends, sit down and relax, and generally have fun.
Of course, HOL wouldn't be HOL if we didn't have one too, so how do you get to it?
Well, when you are in the Entrance Hall, you will notice that down the right hand side of the page is the different houses.
At this point, you should have already been sorted into your house so simply click the house which you are part of; this will then take you to another page.
On this page you can view your house's Professors, prefects, and post-graduates; again if you look down the right hand side of your page you will see the words “common room”- this is a hyperlink.
Click the common room link to be transported to a whole new world or should I say forum.
For new Gryffindors there's a helpful advice page named Godric's Guide to Gryffindor and inside is a helpful guide written by the lovely Professor Missa Matz; all houses should have one of these to help newbies register for their common room.
Common rooms are great fun and give students a chance to meet others; not only can you play cool games and meet new people, but there's plenty of competitions, roleplaying forums and debates to participate in if you're hoping to earn some beans or house points. Even if you only just want to get to know your fellow housemates, the common room offers a unique platform to give you a satisfactory HOL experience.
So give it a try if you haven't already, you never know what you might find...
