It’s time to go back to school, and I don’t know about you guys, but for me that means new pencils and paper, cool folders, and a whole heck of a lot of books. Going through the bookstore or library looking for the next book to read can be a bit difficult: which book would I be interested in? How do I know that this book is something I want to keep reading? Well, look no further! This column is for those of you who are looking for a little bit of recommendation on which books are a good read, or those you might want to stay away from. Though, this is just my opinion, and you may think something different.
I’m going to start off with a series that has just come to a close, Maximum Ride. The Maximum Ride series follows a group of genetic experiments as they struggle to save the world, not only from their evil creators, but the human population itself. It has lots of action, adventure, romance, mystery, and sci-fi / fantasy. It’s great for all ages, and is something I’m definitely glad I read. The series starts off with Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment and ends with Nevermore, this amazing series was written by the World Record breaker James Patterson.

interesting plot, I found it a boring read. I’ve seen the same general thing over and over again, and I can’t help but sigh every time I see it again. While this book does have some redeeming qualities, such as the humor, I felt that reading it was a big waste of time and money.
A series I was pretty disappointed about was the Levan Thumps books. The magic and creatures and powers were what hooked me in with the first book; I loved the way it flowed and how interesting it got, but as I read the next book, it seemed to drag and just left me disappointed. I feel like Obert Skye put a lot of work into the first book, but as it came time to write the second, he started to lag, and it just got boring to me. I originally picked up the books to read while waiting for the next Percy Jackson book and was thoroughly surprised to find that it was not what I expected after hearing hype about it.
Please remember that these are my opinions, and if you have any books you would like to recommend to me, I’m always open to reading new books.
Happy Reading!
