Below the glimmering full moon,
A soul begins to change.
In agony, his human form twists,
And his inner animal manifests.
Every month, his pained howls cry,
From forth his muzzle,
He bellows a growl,
The moon and the cloud the only crowd.
The forest is dark,
The trees bend, and the leaves shake.
The soul runs, runs to hide, runs in shame.
How can he be loved?
A Monster!
A Fiend!
Who would love him?
Remus Lupin?
A girl runs, startled by the noise,
Of a tortured soul.
Her heart pounds as she runs,
Runs to him, runs to love.
She knows, she's always known
He’s dangerous,
He’s deadly,
But she doesn’t care.

To her, he is Remus,
Not a monster,
Not a fiend,
But a lover, a friend.
She could love him,
She will love him,
For she is not afraid.
Afraid of his animal within.
Nymphadora Tonks,
She who can love,
Not just his animal within,
But the man who holds it,
Remus Lupin,
Werewolf,
Father,
Lover.
Her Lover,
Her child's Father,
Her husband,
Her werewolf, and she loves him.
Not a monster,
Not a fiend,
But a lover, a friend.
She could love him,
She will love him,
For she is not afraid.
Afraid of his animal within.
