So it's almost Halloween, and HOPEFULLY you people will go Trick or Treating. I don't care if you think it's lame or "you're too old," IT'S FUN! And at my school, Halloween's always a fun time; teacher competitions have had past groups being the bed bug exterminators and the angry birds. But, as much of a TREAT as dressing up can be, Halloween stores can be quite a TRICK, with $80 costumes.
So, let's have some homemade fun.
These are costumes I've seen in the past that are fun, amazing and CHEAP!

- 1. Captain America
MATERIALS
Blue t-shirt
White long sleeve t-shirt
Navy Blue Sweatpants
Gray and red construction paper
Copy paper
Red shoes/boots
Dinner platter
Red Duct Tape
Gray Duct Tape
Blur Construction Paper
Blue plastic construction hat
STEPS
Basic Attire
Wear your white long sleeve t-shirt as the first layer, and the blue t-shirt (short sleeves) as the second. (You may want to turn the blue shirt inside out so no words are showing.) Cut out a star
from the gray construction paper and put it in the middle of the shirt. Then, tape copy paper just above the waist of your blue sweatpants (so still on the shirt) and make stripes with the red paper to cover up tape. As a bonus, wear red gloves to go with the red shoes.
Hat
Cut the visor off the blue construction hat. Using the gray construction paper, cut out an "A" and two little wings. Put the "A" in the front center and the wings on the side. A strap is always a plus if you plan on running.
Shield
Take the dinner platter and cover it with red and gray duct tape by working from the outside in to make a ring. After doing the red a gray sections, cut out a circle with the blue construction tape and either color in a star with gray marker or tape a gray star made out of leftover construction paper. Then make a strap with gray duct tape.
2. ANGRY BIRD/PIG
MATERIALS
Angry bird hat
Solid color shirt and matching pants
Put on the angry bird hat and find a matching shirt and pants. For example, if you're a pig, a green shirt and pants to match it.
3. WALDO
Caution: A lot of people will yell "I found him/her!" at you by wearing this.
MATERIALS
Red/White striped hat
Res/white striped shirt
Red sweatpants
Potter Glasses
Wear all the materials and you're done. :P
4. A TREE
MATERIALS
Brown Shirt and Sweatpants
Fake Leaves
Tape or glue leaves around your arms and, as a bonus, a brown winter hat with leaves. Another bonus is drawing bark lines on shirt and sweatpants.
5. SKITTLES/M&Ms
MATERIALS
Solid Color Shirt and Sweatpants
White Construction Paper
Cut out an "S" or an "M" and paste it onto your shirt. Wear both shirt and sweatpants. REALLY FUN TO DO WITH A GROUP!
6. "FORGOT A COSTUME"
MATERIALS
Post it Note
Solid Color shirt
Wear normal pants and solid colored shirt. Take the Post It Note and write "Costume" on it and post on shirt or thigh. Put tape around it to secure.
Have fun Trick Or Treating with your awesome costume!
