Something horrible has recently happened in Gryffindor Tower. One of their prefects was found petrified by a basilisk. Upon discovering Fumei Shirokuro, the entire house broke out into a panic. As they were running around trying to find out who had done this to their friend, they seemed to have forgotten about Fumei....who was left lying in a fifth floor corridor. This is the story of the week Fumei lived in Ravenclaw tower and that corridor is where it all began.
It started the day after Fumei was petrified. In their haste to discover the person behind the attack, the Gryffindors had seemingly forgotten to move Fumei to a more secure location. So that morning when the notoriously lost Ryan Granger was trying to find his way to his 9 am Charms class (which is located on the second floor….), he stumbled across Fumei. Ryan decided that this was a grand opportunity to escape another detention. It might have only been the second month of the term, but Ryan had received detention in every class he had so far for being late. The professors refused to believe that he could possibly still be getting lost on the way to class. Using a basic spell, Ryan levitated Fumei off the ground and continued on his way to Charms class (which was in the completely opposite direction). His plan was to tell the professor that he was late because he rescued someone because surely he couldn’t get detention for that!
Ryan would never make it charms class that day however. As he climbed the stairs to the seventh floor (yes, he went up instead of down), he bumped into Ravenclaw’s two Head Prefects, Kyrie Adderholt and Silmarien Szilagyi. When they weren’t in lessons, Kyrie and Silmarien had started hiding out in various parts of the castle hoping to avoid the madness that the Ravenclaw common room had descended into. With several eagles working on color changing spells one night, chaos broke out into a full-blown color war. It had become impossible to walk into the Roost without having something of yours change color. Upon hearing that Ryan had found Fumei petrified and that she could not run away, Kyrie and Silmarien both came up with the same idea, evilly grinning from ear to ear.
They sent Ryan back down the stairs to Charms class and began the process of sneaking Fumei back to the Ravenclaw common room. Luckily they managed to get here there without anyone spotting them. They used some rope to tie her up from the ceiling and waited for everyone to return from lessons. That night they announced that anyone wishing to practice color changing spells should line up behind them and everyone would get a turn. This quickly erupted into many new games, including a particularly fun game where Fumei was enchanted to float around the room for color changing target practice.
This went on for just under a week until one of the Ravenclaw Heads of House, Professor Cassandra Lobiesk, walked into the room during a particularly spirited game of color changing target practice. Cassandra ended up with rainbow colored hair and a purple nose. After she was done yelling at the eagles, she rescued Fumei and returned her to the corridor where the Gryffindors had left her. No one could figure out why Fumei had changed colors while petrified, not even when the Ministry of Magic was called in. Even the know-it-all Ravenclaws seemed to be stumped as to what might have caused this, but they’re certainly hoping that memory charm they used on Fumei works for when she wakes up!
